|
What began in 1973 with one teacher and handful of students in downtown Madrid has now grown into a vibrant, Christian school that serves nearly one hundred students in grades one through twelve. Evangelical Christian Academy exists to serve missionary families by equipping students in the academic disciplines, challenging them to love God, apply His truth, and care for others. The vision drives every facet of ECA's existence. ECA offers a challenging, college preparatory curriculum in an American-based system. Students at ECA study Bible each year, and a Christian worldview is integrated into every aspect of the curriculum. ECA opened its doors in downtown Madrid in 1973 and had grown to 46 students by 1978. By 1987, the student body had nearly doubled to 90 students, and classes were meeting in a number of different buildings. The need for a new building was becoming evident. Land was puchased in 1995 in the quiet Spanish village of Camarma de Esteruelas, and construction on a new school building began in 1999. June 8, 2002, the new building was inaugurated, and in 2006 the school added a boarding program for high school students. Looking back, we can clearly see the hand of God upon this school, and we rejoice in the multiple blessings He has brought through the many people who have interacted within her walls. We are confident that in the years to come the Lord will continue to use ECA to be a blessing to many, including our community in Camarma. We are very thankful for the prayers and gifts of those who have made this possible. Praise God with us for the opportunity to serve the missionaries serving in Spain and Europe through providing a Christian education in English to their children. Pray with us for His continued blessing on these missionary families who are working to bring the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people around the world. To God alone be the Glory!
